Sony-Honda Mobility revealed the Afeela sedan concept at the CES fair in recent months. Afeela, representing the joint venture between Sony and Honda, has now appeared in Japan. The Sony x Honda Afeela 2024 prototype was exhibited in detail.
What does the Sony-Honda Afeela 2024 sedan offer?
The four-door electric sedan features a minimalist design with sharp lines and curves. It features a long LED headlamp at the front and Sony’s logo at the rear. Large wheels give the Afeela an aggressive stance.
Afeela’s interior is also very stylishly designed. A large panoramic screen is located in the center of the dashboard, acting as the control center. The steering wheel is reminiscent of the Tesla Model S Plaid, with a steering wheel in the style of an airplane’s jib.
Afeela’s entertainment capabilities are also very detailed. Each rear seat has its own screen for watching movies, games and videos. Passengers can also team up for shared gaming experiences on the go. Sony calls it the “PlayStation on the move”.
Afeela has an electric powertrain and driver assistance system up to Level 3 autonomy with the help of Qualcomm and Microsoft.
Sony-Honda said pre-orders will begin in 2025, with first deliveries in early 2026. The price of the Afeela 2024 sedan has not been announced, but some leaks suggest it will be around 40-45 thousand dollars
